My K500 engine has always been 100% without any oil leak, but recently I did rebuild the engine to slide bearings on the conecting rods. I also adjusted the oil pump up to higher preassure. After this rebuild the engine has got a big oil leak. The oil is floathing out under the dynamo cover, so I guess the leak comes from the seal ring at the front end of the crankshaft.
My question is, is it possible that a higher oil preassure could cause this leak? (I want to believe that tha oil seal ring could manage this oil preassure?) And I cannot understand why this oil seal ring can leak because the oil preassure inside ak500 engine is in a "locked" system? (higher preassure in the oil-canals will not make higher preassure in the engine case, or?)
