Hi. Sorry for not speaking German.

I am collecting WH motorcycles, and I have note that AUDI in germany has the archiv from WW2 about the NSU motorcycles on frame numbers. I have written to them several times and every time I do have got very great and exact information about the NSU motorcycle who I own (like production date, equipment, who the byer was, and further on -wery great and interesting information)

To the Case: Does anybody in this forum know if it excist an archiv also for the Zundapp WH motorcycles?

Best regards from Benny

Benny,

From my understanding about Zundapp, everything was lost after the war and even when the factory was sold to Japan. The factory moved a few times during its production years and they just didnt keep track of the records. As a WH bike owner and collector myself this is the biggest down fall of Zundapp Archive history, its gone and lost forever. Unlike BMW, you can write them and still get all of your info on your BMW bikes too this day which is incredible. I really was involved with the DKW NZ 350 forum for some time and helped get that web site going for DKW bikes. They have an incredible archive on surviving bikes and I really have been thinking about doing the same for Zundapp bikes, if i ever get the time i will do it. So i guess to answear your question is no, i dont know of anyone who has a forum, data base thats updated and keeps it updated. Honestly as a Zundapp owner we are in the dark.

Mike

Hi Mike. We are in dark, but not in dark like our "brothers on the Lucas-bikes" are ... 😉

In Norway has some entusiast on R75/KS750 made a register on framenumbers on the R75/KS750, and that has helped many people about info when and where the bikes they own, came from. For example we do know that the Germans (wehrmact) did send for example 50 KS750 in a serie (frame number serie) And because of that knowledge, a register like that is very interesting.

You should be taking the first step making a such register on the other Zundapps. I would have been really great.

Best regards from Benny

The archive should be in the German Museum of Technology
in Berlin. There was the whole-Zündapp
Assembly after the 1984 bankruptcy over.
